K.. someone tell me all about Hellsing. Is it licensed here... is it.. an anime, OVA, or manga..? Or all three perhaps. I need to stare stupidly at evil pretty boys, and so far thats what I've gathered from this series.. right... Katy?

It's anime and manga. The anime has been released in the US (they just brought out the fourth and last dvd a few weeks back,) but the manga is only in Japanese at present.
I love it to pieces. The basic story is not *exactly* original, but hey. Vampire hunter/vampire Alucard works for mysterious English goverment body the Hellsing Institution...killing vampires. It's excessively violent, very cool looking but occasionally the plot leaves you scratching your head. I love it anyway. Shall find pics...

The animation quality *is* patchy...but then it's Gonzo and, well, they're living up to their reputation. ^_^; Some scenes are really class though, you can't say it doesn't have style. It's by no means perfect, yes, but I still think it's an enjoyable show. And Alucard is wonderful. Yes, yes he is. >_

Incidentally, is that what the releasing the seal thing *actually* says...I've read about a million translations of it and they're all different.....

I don't remember that exact wording from the fansubs OR Pioneer's subtitles and English dub on the DVD.
Oh, you DO know Pioneer calls him Arucard on the subtitles, right?

Yes, I do. That's the official line from Gonzo on it too. I just think it looks wrong though.
