So, ADV is bringing out Azumanga Daioh in the states. I picked up the first manga recently, and after crying like a baby over what they did to it, I found out about Yotsuba. It's pretty goddamn funny. It can be downloaded here.not allowed

Are you sure you can deal with the bargain-bin animation? :P---

Actually, the HK DVD's could be considered bargain bin animation, as I got all 26 eps for somewhere in the area of 20 or 30 bucks. That sounds like a bargain to me! :D If you wanna talk to me, do it on AIM, jerk. :Onot allowed

*cries* I haven't read anything about any of the Azumanga US releases. Is it really that bad?

The just completely americanized it, which almost destroys it considering that one of the things which made Azumanga Daioh so endearing was how entirely japanese it was. I'm sure they would have rocketed forth and changed the names too, if TokyoPop wasn't already dealing with an immense Initial D backlash.not allowed
