I just finished watching the first 5 dvd's of the series (the only 5 dvd's available at the Anime Expo), and oh man the series is pretty good. At first sight it just looks like a run-of-the-mill mecha series, but after Gowa Yushiro discovers his true identity, that's when the more deeper stuff comes out. I highly suggest you check out the series. It's licensed by ADV Films, and they did a good job with the dvd's. The image is clear (not perfect, but not crappy either). Don't listen to it dubbed, though. It's so crappy, they add stuff and remove original speech and stuff like that. It's not good at all. Oh well, dubbed anime sucks anyways.
So there's my US$0.02 :-)

ive been hearing good things about gasaraki for a while now. might need to go check it out! speaking of ADV, they just licensed Noir (good and bad; DVDs are good no fansubs for the moment is bad) so im gonna have to wait for a while to get my hands on more Noir... nearly everything up to 10 is pretty awesome (a bit of a slow start.. but hey, just builds the suspense more)MRk MRK n FnK Mz

yeah i know, i asked one of the guys at the adv booth about noir. it sucks because nobody will fansub it anymore. it's good because adv generally does a good job with dvd's

yeah, pretty much the HOUR the lisence is announced everyone on the net drops it!! lol.. fansubs are whats keeping the anime community alive online. DVDs are still pretty expensive (especially here in AUS). Most ppl arent really into them, they dont see the point of paying extra for quality that they dont notice (i personally think they all suck and should wake up to new technology.. not that dvds are that new).
So when an anime goes to DVD a lot of ppl dont bother getting into it anymore, which i think is a bit sad. Noir is one that im deffinately gonna get more of. the music in that is so captivating, really adds a different flavour to the show.
but i really admire what AF, A-F, EF blah blah blah are doing with their fansubs.. hehehe.. i cant wait for the new Angelic Layers to be released!! >_< bring it oOoOOon!~!MRk MRK n FnK Mz

i like dvd's because they're much easier to manage than vhs, and i like the nice extras that get put into it. in the case of gasaraki, they have a coule of things like design notes and explanation of some of the terms used in the series (which helps you understand the series that much more)
So there's my US$0.02 :-)

lol! ill tell u the best example of quality editting ive seen? EBICHU! have u seen that? the house keeping hamster? LoL! so funny! its kinda like the japanese version of South Park.. its crude, its simple, but u laugh ur ass off the whole time!
anyways, each ep has a pretty deep editors note section where they explain various japanese jokes, and exaplin why they are funny to the japanese. i found this very helpful, helps u appreciate the anime much more.MRk MRK n FnK Mz
