Lately ive been cutting SICK with the animez.. ^^ i think this is the most ive ever watched in a week! ive been leeching like crazy on dalnet fserves, collecting Lain series (great stuff) love hina (hahah.. i agree with MK, funny as!) Tales of Eternia (yes, based on the RPG) and CCS! Well I'd recommend these (some that have been said, some that haven't):
Excel Saga - (really funny, parodies everything including itself) ADV has it and will be releasing by the end of next year. I would have to say the funniest and most offbeat anime I've ever seen, even beyond Jojo's Bizarre Adventures
Shin Getter Robo - A little mix of old Super Robot nostalgia with new robot designs and better animation.
Anything by Hayao Miyazaki - I know a few were mentioned but c'mon he's one of if not the best anime director in Japan. Hessei Taisen Ponpoko, Castle of Cagliostro, Porco Rosso, Laputa Castle in the Sky (Tenku no shiro Laputa), My Neighbor Totoro (Tonari no Totoro), Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind (Kaze no tani no Naushika), Whisper of the Heart (Mimi o Subasema), My Neighbor Yamada-kun (Tonari no Yamada-kun), Kiki's Delivery Service (Majo no Takkyuubin), and the Chage and Aska On Your Mark video to name some of his works.
Trigun and Cowboy Bebop - Getting 2 sides of the same (well not really) coin. Trigun - Follow the romps of the most wanted man on the planet Gunsmoke. Cowboy Bebop - follow the romps of two bounty hunters across the Galaxy
Anything by Clamp - Magic Knight Rayearth, Card Captor Sakura, X (though the manga is better, the anime still has some cool stuff in it), Clamp Campus Detectives, Clamp in Wonderland, Clover (I know some of these aren't anime but still good)
Anything by Rumiko Takahashi - Ranma 1/2, Urusei Yatsura (Lum), Maison Ikkoku, Rumic Theater, Mermaid's Scar, Maris the Chojo, Inu-yasha. She just a great story teller. 'Nuff said.
