No shit. It's stealing. It's like people complaining about Windows XP because it report fradulent software to Microsoft and the FBI. SORRY THEY DONT WANT YOU TO STEAL THEIR SHIT!!!
If you don't want to use it, DONT USE IT FUCKER. Use linux, get a mac, or be a warez'ing bitch elsewhere.
I don't care about the moral implications of stealing software. I have "cracked" programs and downloaded warez and mp3s and porn that I should have otherwise paid for. I really don't give a shit. But when people start complaining that its a "invasion of privacy" when they crack down on your ass for stealing, their full of shit. WHAT invasion of privacy? Using a computer is a PRIVILEGE, not a right.

I wasn't bitchin that my privacy was invaded. I was just lettin ppl know that action is being taken. We all see piracy around us everyday, and its kinda a jolt back to reality to see sites getting shut down because of something that seems so 'normal' (err.. kinda wrong that it seems normal but thats another matter). But the anime was lincensed, so it was justified. I'm not a 'warezer', I'm part of a Fansub group. Ai (AnimeINC).
Most anime fansub groups are pretty legitimate these days anyways. Nothing lincensed is served on IRC anymore (in fansub group chans) and projects that get lincensed are dropped immediately.
Fansubs are supposed to be for those so desperate that they can't wait for the lincensed versions to be released. Once they are released, they should buy them. Instead of using fansubs as a cheap alternative. MRk MRK n FnK Mz

Ooh, I love the legal grey areas.
Technically, its illegal, punishable by stiff crimes. But my own opinion is that its perfectly fine to distribute the stuff if the company itsself won't take the action to make a profit. I have the same problem with game companies that refuse to re-release their older games, mainly PC ones, that people keep asking for. And then they complain if you burn the 5meg game onto a disc, when they refuse to even sell it.

I have some Monkey Island, EcoQuest, and Indiana Jones pirated disks laying around my room somewhere... geeze... ohhhh, pitfall! LOFL...
I actually have a true packaged version of King's Quest VI... damn.. see, now I find that pathetic, these games SHOULD be free today.
As far as anime goes, I mostly get stuff online that isn't available, either subbed or dubbed, in english... or short series too expensive to chance on... because, damnit, it's just not fair... Also, it lets me buy what I really want to buy, should it become available... such as Angel Sanctuary. That's on my to-buy list...
Ahh... I'm rambling.. this is on topic right? Chee..

Well, I'm the perfect example of what the FanSub groups hope to create.
A few did fansubs of Love Hina. I got those from a friend who got them from a friend, etc. I watched them. I loved them. I got pissed that they're not on DVD in Region 1 even though there's apparently an excellent DVD in Japan. I waited. I waited. I heard some rumors. I waited. I heard some news. And now I'm still waiting. Last I heard was that Bandai is releasing the box set in February, although I've seen nothing official on it, or any places carrying pre-orders or prices. But I WILL buy it.

Exactly Jim.. the fansub is supposed to serve as a sample of what the show's about. Yeah I know that some ppl will only ever have fansubbed anime in the collection and NEVER buy the original thing, but for the few that do GOOD ON YOU!
Love Hina will deffinately be at the top of my Hit List to buy when its released too.. MRk MRK n FnK Mz
