Heh, Mononoke is the only big Ghibli release in the US as well. But you have a VERY NICE advantage of being in region 2, the same as Japan. So there's really no problem in imorting DVD's of anime (or whatever) aside from the higher cost (although you do have that screwy PAL thing ).
And yeah, the 2nd sig pic is regarding the dub, that is actually so bad, Bandai should be ashamed for including it on the disc (and even more so since it'll probably load up as the "default" language). There's a thread here with some links to clips, and Kitsune's, while far from the only bad one, is probably one of the worst.

Yeah, the region 2 thing is very useful for the uni anime society actually, cause I think they buy stuff from Japan and either play it with the English subs if it has them or get one of the people who know/are Japanese to translate it. I can't really do that personally though cause, yep, Japanese imports are so expensive. I wish they'd release some more Ghibli stuff over here though. People would love it if they actually watched it, it's so cute (well, Mononoke is an exception, yes, but that wasn't meant to be a kids' film ) and so much better than the kids' stuff they churn out over here. katyjag

Heheh.. I was just at an anime shop on wednesday, got me a HUGE ASS Love Hina wall hanging. You know those Jap ones on material? heheh ^_^ I love it so much.. NARU AND SHINOBU-CHAN!!! hehehe.. In bathing suits too
I actually saw quite a bit of Toroto stuff there! I guess Australia is better than I thought. The range they had was pretty good, and the guy there is hardc0re otaku frEAk. He can basically import whatever you want at a reasonable price. Mention any anime, new or old, even stuff that has yet to air in Japan, and he'll tell you what kinda merchandise will be coming out about it. He's amazing.
