Ehhhh... After considerable consultation from people on the uni anime soc mailing list, it seems the rumours of the FLCL movie aren't true. Apparently what that page about FLCL the movie is is a bit of a confusion about the release of the DVDs. There isn't anything about there being a FLCL movie on the Japanese part of the site, apparently.

If it's a Japanese page about the release of the DVD's in Japan, why does it advertise trailers in Feb 2002? Just a thought.

Dunno, this is just what one of the people on the uni's anime soc mailing list said, and I guess he knows what they're saying cause he's Japanese. Believe me, I would love there to be a FLCL movie!!

Yomiko.......in japanese, Yomi- is for Read, -ko stands for a typical girl's name..
First name Reading person, Last name reading person.
Even the title is Read Or Die.....
I think they did a good job naming characters..
Nancy was a good touch...
If you have ep 2, I suggest you do a frame by frame check for each scene's Nancy....You'd be surprised at what you find out...
And for FLCL, the 2002 event is a Live-Gainax event, sort of a talk show with Gainax crew. Also they will run all FLCL OVA as a special feature..
It is not a Movie version of FLCL...as they say in their web site...

OK. If you insist...and only for those who think themselves as "OTAKU"......

If you do a frame by frame comparison of all the Nancy's in ep2, you will surely be surprised by the different characters of Nancy you find.
(As a side note, this has been quite a hot topic in Japan and Korea)
Now..
You will find 2 versions of Nancy...(Intentional or not,) One is right handed and the other is left handed.
As you know the character Nancy is (or believed to be )based on the WW2 Franch spy, Matahari(did I spell right?).
On the beginning, satellite shows the view of the market place. On the scene, you can find a suspected woman who seems much like Nancy. And each scene from that point to the hospital, each scene's nancy gives very different impressions.
This drove some speculation of Nancy being a double spy and those scenes were given as a proof....
Well..I don't write so good so might not have been compelling, but yeah, it was pretty fun to talk about this with the fans around here in east asia.....
For the starter,
1. find Left handed Nancy and Right handed Nancy...
2. The opening...when Nancy fires at another shadow that looks like another Nancy..
3. Nancy's attitude towards Yomiko.

I've seen it raw, but I'm 99.9% sure that AnimeINC will still be releasing it. Isn't it already out predistro???
