I was just in a big car accident, and my car(see: only means of transportation in the almost constant 100 degree weather) was totaled. The other guy? He banged the dents out of his bumper and drove off after giving the cop his info. He rear-ended me going about 35 or 40 which means I've probably got whiplash, makes me wish I brought my digi-cam with me.

Well, it's his fault(he admitted it on the scene and the cop can attest to the fact) so he's paying for everything and we're incurring no penalty. I'm also going to end up suing him for pain and suffering as my neck is already starting to ache.

Congrats. Accidents are no fun, but an admission of guilt plus him hitting you from behind basically means you'll hit little or no snags with this. Now all you need to do is stand firm against the insurance company, making sure they don't give you the book value of the car if it was perfectly fine before the accident.
At least you're okay (relatively). Now go sue the guy's ass.

One woman sued McDonalds, and won, because she spilled coffee on herself. Another woman gave her own house to her daughter, then, at a house warming party was walking up the stairs to use the bathroom when she fell through the stairs and injured herself. This was her old house, remember, and she tried to sue her daughter. Thankfully, she lost.
Anyhoo, this fucker will be sued for pain and suffering as I can already tell the next few weeks are going to be hell(my shoulders and neck already ache). The worst part is this all happens right after my vacation starts.......whooooooooooooo......

Ouch d00d. Hope you get paid a biggass settlement and can retire young!
America has had some REALLY screwed up lawsuits though. And you guys don't sue for petty amounts either, multi-multi-million dollar payouts is all we hear about here..

The woman who sued McDonald's got a cool million. A coupla monthes after the trial, the judge was interviewed and he said he felt it was the dumbest decision he ever made.

I like the one about the guy who stumbled across a bag of money on the side of the road. It had apparently fallen outta the back of an Armourguard van that was returning from a bank. So the guy takes the bag of cash, stows it in the back of his car and heads for the Mexican border. Obviously, he gets stopped at the border and asked if he has anything to declare. He is so nervous and sweaty that the inspectors get suspicious and ask him to open the boot. Finding the bag of cash, they haul him in and he gets grilled.
He turns his situation around, ends up suing the Armourguard company for leaving "too great a temptation" on the side of the road. Wins and receives $[X]million.MRk MRK n FnK Mz

The lady suing McDonald's over the "too hot coffee" case is far deeper than most people make it, and it was a necessary suit.
However, this new case, where the fat guy is suing McDonald's over their food is completely rediculous.
