Decadence!! Cable tv?! Fourteen meals a week?! My experience of college is a lot different then...a lot less meal and definately no cable. And it STILL costs a fortune.

The cost doesn't differ whichever uni I go to in England. I could go to one in the city half an hour from here and it would still cost me as much as going to Oxford. The government still charge you the same.

i think private schools have more tendancy to have drug addicts.. its because the kids can actually AFFORD to pay for drugs compared to state schools. because some parents are just SO STUPID.
And perhaps private school kids are spoiled, but theres nothing stopping state school kids being spoiled, i know RICH RICH kids who go to pub schools because their parents are just STINGY. its a matter of the parents, some parents who are 'poor' still send their kids to priv schools because they value (or think) that private schools provide a better eduaction. I go to a lutheran private school, though im not lutheran not even christian myself, some parents value the religious aspect the school provides, unlike state schools which do not have a 'stock' religion. Indeed i dislike the religious aspect of the school because i have to get on a bus at 7:10AM everymorning to get to school at 7:30 and go to chapel at 8:10 EVERYMORNING.. fuck
there is nothing stopping us from doing anything we cant in a state school, unless you mean doing drugs and not getting expelled. heck i leave school early every friday afternoon by writing my own note and signing it.
there is nothing wrong with uniforms, perhaps by chance later on in life you'll get a job that requires one, weather it be a suit or something more casual. it helps kill the problem of not knowing what to wear. XD
priv schools in the us and uk are diff to aus because we have a different education system. in our state we get an op score (number based from 1 - 25, 1 the best and so on) and we are ranked by alot of calcs like our class RANKS and SCHOOL CORE SKILLS SCORES. naturally private schools do better on the SCHOOL CORE SKILLS SCORES than pub school (i dont need to explain why) and that is why I go to a priv school.

hey, not all of us are! >_<
I'm totally with miso on this one. It all comes down to the parents. I go to a christian private school that is about 40min drive away from my house. Some people can't understand why I would bother when there are much closer schools, but I guess my parents just think that "christian" private schools offer a better education. The atmosphere or whatever is just better than most of the state schools around.
Most people that go to my school are NOT rich, far from it in fact. Many of them can barely afford to pay the fees! I found that many of the asians in particular are more WILLING to pay a little extra for what they consider 'value.' Most of the aussies don't really value education that much for some reason (flame-suit on)..

Some can afford the price, but still don't think it's worth sending their kids to a private school. I know parents who work 2 jobs AND sew clothes/cut material at home to put their 3 children through a private school. THAT'S dedication. Shows where people's priorities are..
And on the clothes topic again. A few months back we had a few consecutive weeks of casual clothes at school. I NEVER realised how small my wardrobe was..

Everyone ran outta stuff to wear, it was hilarious.

Most of the girls were all freaked out coz they didn't want to wear the same thing over and over again. heh~ uniforms are just a no brainer . . . just the way school
should be.MRk MRK n FnK Mz

My school just started using a dress code this year.
I do not have a proble with it, as I do not dress against it. But I know a bunch of people complained about it.ATI - Driving the chemical reaction revolution
