woah you can get an E in a class?
It takes a lot of work to achieve, but it's definitely possible.
I've gotten out of a few E-related scrapes in my day. Several of them involved doing makeup work on the last day for hours on end, even after the teacher left. ![]()

N stands for Needs Improvement
i'm not sure why we don't have an "E" grade, but my theory is that a student who got an F on something can easily change it to an E with one simple line. yea yea yea i know you can change an F to an A, but it looks too awkward. how many people write boxy "A"s?

Eh, here in Maryland we don't have F's.
E's are the bottom of the barrel.

Our grades are from 1-5 with 1 failing, and 0 incomplete. We have a 6 which is excused with credit. 7 is excused but no credit. 8 is withdrawl passing, 9 withdrawl failing.
