Uh....question: what the heck does a WaiWai mean?
BTW, my boyfriend once asked me "If I move to Japan to teach English for a year, would you go with me and/or wait for me?" After reading all of that my answer is now definitely HELL NO!!!! I am never going anywhere near Japan ever, ever...and never touching anyone who has been anywhere near a Japanese school girl. *runs away screaming*

in chinese culture, the term "wai" is a sound we make when we're surprise, shock, etc etc....
just a thing we say to show our emotions...... no real meaning

I admit those articles are a bit frightning, but you are all taking them too seriously I think...
I read some articles a few years ago, and found myself a bit wide eyed. Very soon though I came to the conclusion that my expectations of another country should not exceed the expectations I have of my own.
Yall have seen Jerry Springer right? I dont make a habit of watching it, but I have seen atleast one show. The fact that it has survived.. how many years? Atleast three years, more I think too actually, and it is a daily show (I think?), should be proof enough that the states are just as fucked up as the Japan painted in those articles.
There are still great things about Japan, no doubt... and I really hope any of you who have the chance to go there, explore travel and/or a change of culture, do so despite those articles.
Ren, who is envious of ANYONE who has the cash to go to Japan, and will slap ANY of you silly if you pass that up!

Naw, I have nothing against Japan, per se.
I'm sure there's plenty of non-crazy, non-sick people, like doraemi.
I just don't ever want to go there.
