I'm about to leave to have dinner with a bunch of friends.
4 hours until 2003. I wish I could go after dinner to the party the guys are going to, but my parents want me home... Dammit, another year of Dick Clark's crap... Watching the ball drop is so overrated.

New Year's celebrations are so overrated.
I know it's really well planned out, but one of these years I want to see that damned ball in NY to either jam or just drop. I don't mean lower to the ground, I mean to freefall and land in a shower of sparks.
I get to write 2003 instead of 2002.
I'm Dick Clark, and my face is falling off.

New Years in Tokyo. You would think that would be awesome right? My friend told us to head over to Yokohama for the celebrations over there, apparently they rock..
We caught the train over to Yokohama at around 6ish, sat around in Chinatown waiting for the bloody time to pass, ended up at some theme park that had a pretty mad ferris wheel with a clock on it. Each carriage on the ferris wheel had a light stuck to it, and the lights ticked over like the seconds. So the wheel was basically a bigass clock.
It finally gets to 11.59 and the countdown is on. Unfortunately, the clock only has an 'analogue' display so you had to count how many ticks were left to see when to start counting down from 10 (in japanese might I add). The entire crowd fucked it up until around 3 seconds left. Everyone was counting down differently etc.. hahaha!
The clock hits 12. We wait for the fireworks. A pissy little sparkler pops out of the Ferris Wheel.
I could've cried. It was officially the suckiest display I've ever seen for New Years...
