has anyone ever seen this? they just started showing it on [The New] TNN with really shitty, really annoying english voiceovers. oh well, it gets the point across, though. it's fkn hilarious!

yeah, it isn't even a translation of the japanese dialogue, it's shitty voiceovers trying-to-be-funny dialogue. i had to watch it on mute because the voiceovers wanted me to shoot the tv.

They show that on a crap cable channel in this country. Is the voiceover the same over there? If any of you know what a Scouse (Liverpool) accent is like you can tell me if it's the same guy or not. ^_^

i watched a number of takeshi's castle when i was young
it gets kind of crazy but they usually dont change the final stage with the finalists vs takeshi.
for people who might not know who takeshi is: in the jap show bus industry is called "Beat Takeshi" obviouly not a real name he is a popular japanese comedian and he hosts many talk shows [mostly comedy related] he appeared in movies such as "Battle Royal" and "Brother"

Wait, you mean Takeshi "Beat" Kitano? I know nothing about the show you guys are talking about, but I know him from quite a few films (unfortunately, Battle Royale isn't one of them...yet).
I knew he did comedy and such, but didn't know he had a game show, or whatever it is you're talking about. Hm...should be interesting to check out...

Yea when I saw him on Takeshi's Castle (aka "Most Extreme Elimination Challenge" on [The New] TNN :P ) I instantly recognised him as Kitano on Battle Royale

The last time I visited my family in Malaysia they showed it every night. Without the obviously hideous voice-overs.
It's hilarious for a few weeks, but then it gets a bit too samey.
