Bumz, I don't think it's that we're sad, but it's more like...I'm not going to spend 50 for a prom ticket so I can show up and eat some dry chicken, then dance for 3 hours, and 150 for a decent tux so I can take the jacket off almost as soon as I get there because it's too hot. Unless I'm GUARANTEED to have shitloads of fun, it's WAY too much money to spend; besides, the large majority of the people I spoke to after both my junior and my senior prom said that they sucked. I'd rather spend the money on something I enjoy, like videogames or anime.not allowed

Hmm. I never liked to way that we don't have that kinda thing here in the UK. I'm a geek yes, but I still like to goto clubs and get drunk quite alot

Dude Stevedog your prom was only $50? At my high school it was $65, per person, and that's the discounted price WITH an ASB sticker!
My senior year's prom was on a nice cruise though, the year before was total crap.

I never made it to prom... Wexford's prom ordeal was around $200.
