God damn, been looking about for flats recently and they all seem so expensive :/
Considering I'm trying to fund moving to the united states at the same time as live it's all a bit of a strain.

Get a company to pay to bring you over; dazzle them with all your webskills, someone should offer you a job sooner than later. Or, put up an app stating that you're willing to move, and if a company contacts you, tell them you may need a small advance to get over to the states. It's a long shot, but it's something.not allowed

Or you could just avoid the US while our economy is sucking as it is?

Be prepared for a lot of stress over paperwork and the like if you're moving by yourself...I've got it and I'm only staying for three months right now. -_-
