Miso Soup
I bid at the last minute, but some prick outbidded me with 10 seconds left and my connection wasn't fast enough to reload and bid again.
Tactics:
Usually I have three window browsers open. Two loaded onto the page to bid and the other on My Ebay page. Put a minimum, or low bid on the first browser. Then, your very maximum bid on the next browser and keep refreshing your 'my ebay' window to see if anyone snipes you at the last moment so you can bid with the maximum bid. You do all this in under the last minute of the bid. And hope to god your connection or something doesn't screw up.

That's a smart idea, I'll gonna keep that in mind if I'm ever with a 56K computer....Thought dad was gonna get rid of our DSL to save a couple of bucks, but I guess he changed his mind and got cable now.-My gorgeous Raphael shrine ^.^

*update* I think i might go through with the paper work of filing a small claim (actually, itty bitty compare to most other small claims) against the guy, and instead of actually submitting it, just let him know, since court cost is around 250 here. Logically if I did go through with this and get not only what i ask for but also ask for all the court fees, it will cost him much more than just settling outside with me. Does this counts as a threat?

It will probably be recieved as a threat, but really it's an ultimatum, so I wouldn't try to kid around that fact.
