Pshh. What are you talking about? I would have taken the day off if I could. A friend of mine was having a World Cup party at his house. I could have been there yelling "OH MY GOD DID YOU SEE THAT?"

And y'know, in other news, Zinedine Zidane is still the man. In fact, he's even _more_ the man.

He is more the man for showing some of the most unsportsmanlike conduct this side of Mike Tyson's hunger for human flesh? I'll pass.
In my mind, he should've been arrested for assault, period.

EDIT: And yes, we get the World Cup in the US. I think fourteen people watched it this time.

He's even more the man because he's spent his whole career putting up with racial abuse and the guy he headbutted was really, really asking for it. o_0

That being said (honestly, the only Zidane I know about was the one with the tail in FF9, so I know nothing of this guy's past), I have the feeling that someone like Jackie Robinson wouldn't have been remembered so fondly if he cracked his bat over the head of any player who called him a "nigger," at least once he was a seasoned player (he actually did get into some fights as a rookie, but he learned to literally beat the others at their own game).
In that respect, Zidane scoring a winning (or tying) penalty kick would've been more damaging to the jerk with the motormouth than any headbutt.

The dude was lucky to get away with a headbutt. If they were playing against England he would have had his man goods stomped on by an angry Wayne Rooney. Ouch.
