I'm REALLY glad to hear someone else loves the music from Escaflowne as much as I do! Sora is another of my favorites... the soundtracks were really my first introductory to how good some anime and game music is...
I'm a big fan of minimalist pieces though, so Shadow of Doubt not only reminds me of a great story... I love it because of it's style as well. Philip Glass-ish.. just, wonderful. It's on my minimalist CD...
on another note, the movie was very good. But in a way I did prefer the series, obviously because it was longer. The ending of the film was much better though no doubt...
Er, ahh.. back to music, ahem... I keep becoming more and more impressed with game music... and not only the pretty and powerful. Silent Hill 2's music is also some of my favorite... I'm very glad that music has become such a huge part of gaming, enough that the feel of the game at certain points will depend heavily on it.
