Bumz: it did, but I was making kind of a weird face...
Ainor: Poser is very easy to use once you get the hang of what all of the buttons do... The program itself comes with a lot of useful stuff, like a basic humanoid model, which you can just morph like silly putty to create the muscle tone, ears, facial features, and emotional expressions you want, etc.
The rest (textures and background) you can edit using something like Photoshop. I can help with the newbie stuff if you decide to get into it.
As for your modeling question, I just do mostly freelance stuff. Depending on whether it's just an amateur photographer wanting to practice with lighting and directions on a real live person, or a professional company, and how uncomfortable the clothing/weather conditions combination is, the pay is anywhere between $20-$100 an hour. (Running around in Uma Thurman's ridiculously snug Avengers costume in 120 degree weather for a local magazine was on the high paying end...)
It's getting more and more difficult to screen employers these days though. Lots of weirdos our there just trying to get a girl to wear skimpy outfits for them. You can sometimes tell by how desperate they sound.
By the way, do you guys think this looks better, or the original version with the long straight hair?

                Definitly the long hair.
Whoa.. i never used poser before...i tried playing around with Lighwave when my bf was working on his stuff.. don't think he liked it too much :P sooooo, maybe I'll start with poser, it sounds like a fun place to start.
yeah, i know what you mean about finding a serious employer... i've seen soooo many modeling scams. I either look like i desparatly want to be a model or just waaaay naive or have too much money to them. No one ever got me though Y^-^Y

Aonir, are you in school right now or have some friends who are? If so, you should go to a University software store and look for the educational version of stuff. It's usually 1/4-1/3 the official price.
A lot of people seem to have problems with Poser 5 (which is what I'm using). They say it's hella slow, requires ridiculously high specs, and crashes every 5-10 minutes and you should get Poser 4 instead, but I haven't really had much of a problem with it, so I have no idea which to recommend. I can point you to some people who know more if you like.

Yea, student software kicks ass They're usually not much different from the full software, if there is a difference at all, and since it has the Educational tag on it, it's farking cheap!

The difference is that once you graduate, you have to drop the edu software and go legit.not allowed
