I'll be doing some first impressions of "Soul Reaver 2" and "Ico" on the game reviews board. Now let me get to something here: ICO. If there is a reason to buy the summer jampack for ps2 its because of this demo. This thing is going to be the sleeper hit of 2001, with barely any hype. This is GOOD. This thing looks better than most X-Box games, its amazing.

I wonder if Spok has this yet....

Juding from ICO and Metal Gear Solid 2, games with a medium polygon count while forcusing on atmospheric effects look so much better than highly detailed games. It just goes to show how much atmosphere is important in making a game look good.
ICO is an original, so far. However, all verdicts are reserved until the title's release.-Spok-

Sadly Sony has barely any marketing for this, and its a pity because I've played this demo just as many times as the MGS2 demo. It has "sleeper hit" written all over it.

I never even heard a wisp of ICO . To say it is unhyped is an understatement .

It seems bizarre. A young boy with horns walks around with a blind princess and periodically beats things with his stick. Background music was apparently ditched in place of ambient natural background noises, and to top it all off, you cannot die. Well, you can, but you start immediately at the last room, and the monsters themselves can't hurt you. It's like Pokemon in that respect, except that Pokemon penalized a loss by taking away some of your money.---
            Gaa Gaa: "Hurt everyone."
Lisa: "Did Gaa Gaa just say 'hurt everyone'?"

HA! That's the weirdest explanation of it so far. It's very strange but I think comparing it to Pokemon is very stupid. I'm posting a First Impression of Soul Reaver 2 and Ico later.

I'm serious! There's no such thing as a "Game Over" screen in either Pokemon or Ico. And the princess following you around everywhere sort of reminded me of the annoying little Pikachu that followed Ash in Pokemon Yellow.
Of course, Pokemon sucks and Ico's pretty.---"Oh no! Jesus will kill us all!" And this is symbolic, because Jesus really will kill us all. Or something.

Well in most other games you die and start back at the save point and run all the way back to the part that you died in. ICO's method is easier, but removes the element of strategic running.

Does Pikachu do anything in that game, other than following you around? I still can't really see comparing Ico to pokemon.
