This game is Jesus in a box, I've loved every second of it(I beat it 20 minutes ago). Alotta magazines were talking about the first section with the tanker being extremely polished and the rest seeming a little less than the first. In my opinion, the reason why it seems less polished is because it's more spread out. Everything you can do in the tanker, etc, you can do everywhere else, it's just not centralized for you to play with. Also, some people may be put off by that fact that a good 80% of the game, the main character is NOT Solid Snake. He's there, you just don't play as him. The story is EXTREMELY complex, the only downside to this game being that anyone who hasn't played through the first is gonna be, for the most part, completely lost. Thats not a big deal, MGS is one of the best games out there still, and everyone should have played it. PLAY THIS NOW! KOJIMA COMMANDS YOU!

That was such a cool twist...and right when you least expect it. This game rocks. Every action has the potential to fill or empty one's heart...

          Spoilers.

Spok, you play as Raiden, a new operative, for most of the game. I can't explain why without giving away the incredibly intricate story they present you with, you have to play through to understand why.

I havn't had much time to play yet, so I'm only where Raiden has to diffuse Fatman's bombs, but this is VERY cool so far.
And yes, to Spok's enjoyment, you can shoot seagulls.

Jim, just to prepare you, right before the very end it gets fucking wierd. =P You'll know it as soon as you get to it.

playing as Raiden makes you realise what a hardass Snake truly is.
Excellent game. dialogue drags on a bit... but with THOSE volumetric lighting effects, environment maps, etc. - it's completely worth it.

                  Raiden sounds like a meerkat.
