I went to the swap meet today, something I have never done before, and came out like a bandit. Well, considering that I only brought 40 dollars with me I escaped with Incredible Crisis, The Nightmare Before Christmas dvd (I've seen it sold at Disneyland for like 24 dollars), and Muppets Christmas Carol (new and shrink wrapped), and a snow cone for a grand total of 32 dollars.
Incredible Crisis is an old game for Playstation that few people knew about. It's basically a series of simple mini-games, 24 in all, that seem like a cross between PaRappa the Rapper and a track and field game. The game's selling point however, is that it's incredibly off the wall and irrevrent.
The game starts at the Taneo's family home where grandma reminds everyone to attend her birthday party that evening. The plot is about everybody trying to make it in time for her party. The first level has the dad dancing and escaping from the place where he works as the building is being destroyed.
During these levels there is a stress meter. The better you do, your character's stress decreases. The worse you do, your stress increases. When your head explodes, you lose the level.
The music is performed by the Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra. While I'm not really into ska, the soundtrack is perfect. The music complements the levels very well and instill a greater sense of intensity.
The swap meet is an awesome place to get games, especially older ones.
-Spok-
