As I screamed in pain the last couple of weeks, waiting for the money in my piggybank to get enough so I may purchase a XBOX or a GameCube (thats how fu&^$%# dirt poor I am :-P) the new winter 2001 jampack demo arrived with a playable demo of FFX.... With two different areas to play in... wow....
Of course whatever I say here, will not at all change your opinion of the FF games. If I say that FFX is the worst of the series (WHICH IT IS NOT) millions of gamers will run out and buy it. While from the demo that Ive been playing today has been jaw dropping, I do feal that there was some issues that needed to be cleared......
Oh what the hell am I saying!!! This game lasy the smack down on every other RPG's candy ass. Bouncer looks pathetic to this visual masterpice that I have been playing for an entire straight day.... Oh what, am I supposed to type something? Oh yeah :-p
The two demos that are in the jampack is the Zanarkand and some island (big blue guy is in it, cant remember peoples names gotten really excited about this, barely type :-)
The Zanarkand demo opens up to an amazing CG sequance of a Blitz Ball game, and boy does it rock. First thing that caught my attention as the scene unfolded, is that rock music in the background? Grunge rock? Well, thats a first in a FF game! Anyway, not to spoil much Tidus barely escapes an amazing onslaught from "SIN" (big bad elemental...thing) and he runs off with werido Auron (black shades "dont mess with me or all kick your ass" guy)This demo was mostely cut scences and battles I'll be getting into both later.
The island demo is also really cool, it begins with Tidus getting into a fight with (Kimarah?) and running off with his friends to a boat that takes them away (somewhere) Both demos are about the same and are littered with cutscences.
Now that charicters have voices all of the small story seqances in the past games have turned into amazing full cut scences. A fealing of Squares last work "The Bouncer" came back to my memory especaily in the Zanarkand demo. Thankfully there is great gameplay in FFX, the battles rock. And the new Overdrive system is frickn fantastic. Summoning creatures are new, after summoning one they take the place of the two other charicters in battle and have there own attacks and Overdrive's. The virtualy become charicters in battle. Battles do go alot faster and they seem more action packed with charictres yelling out differnt things during the fight. In Zanarkand, Auron tells Tidus to begin attacking a large generator thats on the side of a highway. Doing so not only destroys the bridge but in the process blows away the enemies in front of you. Charicters even suggest putting others in mid-battle to fight off enemies. Oh yeah, what about the dubbing of the game? Well its fine, the mouths may not go with some of the talking but, its liveable.
If you have any brains go grab this Jampack demo disk. Best $7.00 you have spent in a long time :-p![]()
