Yeah, cause there's a lot you can do after the ending of that game.
Well at least MY interpretation of the ending.
Oy. Could've sworn
everyone died at the end.
Guess I won't know how I feel about this until I get more info.
PLANS to do so. Hopefully they won't, since its one of those games that shouldn't really be tampered with, with a prequel OR sequel (especially since...yeah, everyone more or less dies ).
I WOULD like to see an ultra high quality remake of it, with the latest graphics, "DVD-quality" cutscenes (even the original cutscenes at a far higher would suffice), a few extra quests to help flush out the storyline, etc.
Beyond that, FFVII 2? Bleh, I know everyone loved the game, but that's probably not a good idea. Something like VIII would set itsself up to a sequel far better than VII.
Well, I do and don't agree with that statement.
Games, like films/books/etc, can be followed by a worthy sequel. Star Wars was great, but it was even topped by The Empire Strikes Back. The Godfather is an EXCELLENT film, but even it was topped (well, some people think so) by The Godfather II. The same could be said about the Ultima games, which had some rough spots, but held up pretty well over EIGHT sequels. The same can be said about numerous works of art over the course of history.
What seperates FFVII from many of those is how COMPLETE the story was. Sure, they can make a sequel and show what happened right after the events of the game, or after a few hundred years (after the final FMV), but they probably wouldn't accomplish anything. I believe VII should pretty much stand on its own, and not risk the chance of being tarnished by a sequel.
As I stated, FFVIII would be far better for a sequel, because while the whole plot was completed, everyone LIVED and it wouldn't be hard for Square to make a game of the "continuing adventures of SeeDs".
But you're basing this on your interpretation which could be TOTALLY wrong.
EDIT: Drak, right now my sig stands as a memorial until I figure someway around their bullcrappy.
not allowed
I'm for the FFVIII sequel. I liked the characters in that game far too much.. plus the story has so much room to be extended, as Jim said.
Actually, I just saw the Rinoa figurine that I NEED at a shop today.. ooOoozzer.MRk MRK n FnK Mz
An FFVIII sequel would be so much better than a VII one... Oh and were they the really gorgeous statue ones, bumz? I need the statue of Griever that you can't buy anywhere except-possibly-one-tiny-Square-owned-shop-in-some-Tokyo-backstreet so badly.
