The easiest way is perhaps:
-Open the bitmap in whatever program you use
-Click save as
-then there should be to fields:
one where you can fill in the name of the file (ie. katy1)
and below that, there should be a field with a drop down menu of file types.
-choose a file name and then choose the file type (the most common is perhaps .jpg)
-then save
-Now your file has been duplicated from a bitmap to a jpg which has a much smaller file size.
To actually compress a file, well that depends on what programs you have.![]()

Ehhhh...I tried that, but I have like, no software whatsoever on this computer apart from the very very basics and what comes with Windows. And Paint won't let me change it to anything other than a different bitmap file. ![]()
