I like the writing in the Legacy of Kain games. Its inspired me (notice the really stupid quote at top of post.) Who the hell writes this stuff. I like how all the charicters drag on for five minutes talking how there confused, or how pissed off they feal. It makes all of the games alive, plus the voice acting is great. I dont understand why the legacy of kain series dosent get that much plubicity. This is a review? Ya, maybe. I dont feal like typing for two pages, yet sadly that means I probably going too so....shiznt...
Gameplay:
Blood Omen 2 is the annticipated vampire sucking action game from Crystal D, which is a true sequel to Silicon Knights masterpice (:P) Blood Omen. The first game was a neat disturbing overhead-diablo, rpg with a gothic and more charicter and story oriented mix.
I loved it.
While Crystal D did a terrific job in continueing the series with the Soul Reaver series, we finally once again get to play as Kain, evil-incarnate. This, really was the game I was looking forward too, more than Soul Reaver 2.
The legacy of kain series has the biggest most epic "historical" story ever in a game so I will quickly go thru the story. Basicaly, Kain made an army after decideing to live instead of sacraficeing himself to conqour Nosgoth. He failed when the Sarafan resurfaced led my a mysterious "Serafan Lord" who defeated Kain by using a new magic called "Glyph Energy" (That is also in Soul Reaver #1) Kain awakins 200-some years, pissed off and looking for revenge. I really dont want to ruin the story so thats just about all Im going to tell.
Blood Omen 2 is no more an RPG. Its a liniar action adventure game. That ticks me off, the levels are pretty linear yet varied which is neat. The city that the game takes place in: Meridian, is a hybrid of old-school Blood Omen #1 buildings, meshed with this neat Glyph Energy stuff. Its a power source, and the enviroments are nicely different because of this stuff. Kain gains new "Dark Gifts" which are really cool powers that he can use. Kain can change into mist and do Tenchu style stealth kills. Jump MASSIVE distances (which he can use to jump and attack enemys) Take control of humans minds to control them, plust there are a ton more. The levels take alot of advantage with these abilites and there fun. Kain has his signature sucking blood move which is always fun. Combat is the main point of the game, and Kain has a varity of skills. Attacks and blocks are radomly done when you attack and block, making combat look cool. And stalking enemies is pretty fun. If you ever wanted to play the bad guy, you will love Blood Omen 2. Harnesing glyph energy becomes a major factor in the game, and the puzzels are interesting (while not very original.)
GRAPHICS:

If you think your going to get better graphics out of your XBOX than your PS2 your in for something scary. There about the same :PPPPP
Seriously, I dont think Crystal D at all tried to make use of the XBOX hardware. The graphics are "lighter", but thats about it.
THERE ARE SOME MAJOR FRAME RATE ISSUES.
Sometimes (FOR NO REASON) your frame rate will drop...really low... For really no reason. Even if there is one enemy on screen your frame rate will fall. It has nothing to do with the surroundings it just randomly fails. I dont get it. How can this be?
The graphics are mediocer. Nothing spictacular.
SOUND:
Good voice acting is the saving grace of Blood Omen 2. Because suprisingly the music SUCKS. Wow, after the awsome tracks of Soul Reaver 2, I am dumbfounded at the horriable noises that come out of my TV speakers. Owey.
VIDIOTS TIME TO PICK OUT THE PROBLEMS:
Bad frame rate. Not great graphics. Bad frame rate. Bad music. No replay value![]()

FINAL VERDICT:
This game has gotten sucky reviews. I dont get it. It was fun overal, I liked the game alot. Its a good game. People should go out and play it :P There are problems with it, but all games have problems in it. The acusations of combat being dull is rediculous. Obviously some editor didnt use any of the Dark Gifts to his or her advantage whil playing which is one of the coolest aspects of the game. The puzzels are suprising and fun, and the story is (once again) epic. It may not be the best Kain game but it was a fun one.
