So, with all the new fighters coming out this year for the PS2, which do you guys think will be the best? Tekken4, Virtua Fighter 4, Soul Calibur II, one of the slew of 2D fighters? Hell, name anything you like, even Mortal Kombat 5, if you want.

As much as I love Tekken (And believe me I do love it to death) T4 hasn't really *hit* me yet.. it's a very big leap off from the Tekken Tag style of playing, and I know many fellow Tekken Tag fans never took up the new Tekken game as it was too 'different'..
Soul Calibur II is deffinately gonna rock. Soul Edge was a revolutionary game (for me anyway) on PSX, and SC on DC is one of the best fighters to date imo.
Outta the new group of Fighters that I've seen previews to, I'd have to go with Soul Calibur II.MRk MRK n FnK Mz

Silly me, I started the thread but never stated my own opinions. In lieu of T4, I think I'll grab TTT out of the bargain bin instead. The walls in T4 and the unrealistic physics make for what seems to me like a somewhat poorly implemented combination, plus Tekken Bowl kicks ass.
I've heard great things about VF4, but I've heard even greater things about Soul Calibur, so at the end of the day I'd probably go with SC2 as well, although VF4 wouldn't be trailing far behind.

You'd have to be soooooo careful. There are reasons why I'm only allowed to train with blunt instruments. (Thanks for relieving my curiousity though! Even if they look like the single most dangerously designed weapons ever!)katyjag

In Soul Calibur 2, the fighting will probably be spectacular (again), so you can already count on a good multiplayer game there. Now we just have to see how Namco is going to deal with the one-player aspect of the game. In SC, the Mission Battle mode really added a lot of replay value to it (I only completely finished it a couple of months ago, after having it for more than a year). Virtua Fighter 4 also looks like a good fighting game, but I have to go with SC2. The legend will never die.Every action has the potential to fill or empty one's heart...
