Netanyahu: Israel will never again fail to preempt attacks 
On the eve of the 45th anniversary of the Yom Kippur War, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told his cabinet Sunday that Israel will never repeat the mistake it made in 1973 by not preempting an enemy attack. “Forty-five years ago, our intelligence misjudged the war intentions of Egypt and Syria,” Netanyahu said, referring to the intelligence assessments at the time that discounted an Egyptian and Syrian attack.
Typhoon Mangkhut: Deadly typhoon lands in south China
Typhoon Mangkhut is lashing China’s most populous province, bringing winds of up to 100 mph (162 kph). Deadly ‘shark attack’ at Massachusetts beach
A man in his 20s has died after being injured in a suspected shark attack in the US state of Massachusetts. The incident happened at Newcomb Hollow Beach around lunchtime on Saturday.
