I'm old but new to this forum. I have read many complaints from QB 57 owners who are having trouble with the barrel to breech connecting ring continuously loosening. If you wish to keep the breakdown capacity of the gun but find yourself having to constantly re- tighten the ring, this solution seems to work for all who have used it. Go to your local "Home Depot" type place and buy a role of plumber's teflon tape. Plumbers use it all the time to stop leaks in threaded connections. It is not sticky, tissue thick but tough. Put a couple wraps on the breech threads, wrapping in the same direction the collar turns as it threads onto the breech. The tape will fill the gaps between threads and provide enough friction to hold the locking ring tight, but you will still be able to loosen the ring and break the rifle down as usual. Hope this will help someone.
