A few of us who attended the meetup realized that we are in a relatively close vicinity and thought it might be a nice idea to meet for a face to face meeting at least once a month. One region proposed for the meeting was Manhattan since there is public transportation available to that area and it might serve as a decent middle point. No specific location, date, or time have been decided for the meeting yet. This post is intended to open the topic for discussion so we can try to find a balance in our schedules to develop a face to face meeting that will deepen our bonds in fellowship and recovery as well as create an opportunity for others who might be interested to join in. I look forward to hearing your responses and to working together so we can make this goal a reality.

Sounds good. Carpool? Parking?

We have not yet decided where we're going to meet or when. Public transportation might be the more effective way if going to Manhattan. Otherwise we could search for any carpooling opportunities. First we need to find out who's interested, where they're coming from, and what day works for them.
I'll start. I'm in southwest Connecticut and I would prefer early Saturdays but might be able to do a weekday if that works better for others. I might also be able to request a day off once a month if it becomes a regular meeting.

I am in the greater Philadelphia area, so I could potentially travel with others from this area, and/or between here and Manhattan. E.g. I could pick up someone near Philly, and we can meet someone in Trenton, and all take public transit from there, or something along those lines.

I go to worship services Sunday mornings.

Here are some Public Transit systems to get from Philadelphia's Center City to Grand Central Station in NY
* Peter Pan bus,
* Amtrak train,
* NJ Transit,
* SEPTA
It will take about 2 hours 20 minutes or more, depending on starting time, traffic conditions and connections.

Some leg of the journey could be driving, if that is desirable. I don't live in CC so that is why I mentioned taking some people to Trenton with me, and getting on Public Transit in Trenton.

Hello, I live in NJ right across the river from NYC, I also drive, so I would prefer something in uptown so that it will be possible to park and I could certainly drive to Trenton. Saturday morning works fine for me, maybe Sunday 12-5 is a bit better.

I live In Southeast PA. NYC is too fat North for me. I can drive to someplace in NJ midway between NYC and Philly.

If possible, I would like to co-chair a South Jersey + SE Pennsylvania + Delaware face to face meeting.

Is that doable?

I'm not sure who is going to lead it. I certainly don't mind :)

When I made this post, I may have used the wrong term. I was considering more of a NYC meeting since a few of us (from the meetup) live around there.
If you guys want to organize a meeting in the area you mentioned, I'll leave that in your hands, but I did not intend to go that far.
Good luck with your meeting formation!
-Best regards, Phil.
