As above really, i am about to change my Maxxis MAPS (2nd set) excellent tyres btw.
Narrowed my winter tyre list down to :
Pirelli Angel GT
Maxxis SUPERMAXX ST MA-ST2 (i do like Maxxis tyres but not tried these)
Michelin Pilot Street
SPORTMAX QUALIFIER 2
I have had the Avon Pro Xtreme Rain lol nice tyres but i only got 800 miles from the read so i wont be going there again.
Heidenau 69H K73 the most dangerous tyre iv had the pleasure to scare myself to death with ! if i could get the free i would never ever use them again, they were worse than the plastic Yokahama tyres fitted to my RD350LC that i bought new lol
Anyone who has used the above tyres let me know your thoughts on them mainly as a cold weather wet rain tyres as i use my bike all year round for work.

Another one to add into the mix are continental conti motion, a sport touring tire that's cheap as chips but has given me more feedback and levels of grip than both the diablos or qualifiers ever did.
keep the faith
