Is yellow pine good for carving?. I've used white pine and liked it but have access to some yellow .
Wondered if it's OK?
Is it Much harder than the white?

I avoid southern yellow pine like the plague!!!!!!

Yellow pine is what they use for treated lumber, hard & heavy, physically almost no comparison to white pine.

I would not listen to those who have white pine, hard woods are just fine.
Most of the time better......

Carved a lot of yellow pine and have no problem with it. Like some other wood better for sure but it's not that bad.

Yellow pine here in Georgia is so full of sap, that a cut off stump looks like a cupcake
