He was fully sealed when i received him, my grubby trotters were the first to snip through the tape carefully and i have kept the bag with the display cases for Rs/Precision etc

Some are a little more blue, some have a purple tint.  There's some
mystery surrounding it.  I've heard of an Italian giveaway.  Besides the
Blu-ray mail-in.  As well as Mattel giving some away at D23 or Comic Con.
Around five years after the mail-in debacle.  So there's a good deal of
anecdotal evidence of two separate runs.  My theory is they made another
run as damage control.  And then didn't control the damage.  Leaving a
quantity laying around.  Leading to the other two distributions.  As well
as a number of backdoor Cars.   All things aside, it's a sharp looking Car.

Good information there, i trust the seller 100%, i know how serious and picky he is about all his cars and i know he wouldn't buy it for himself if he knew it wasnt legit. Bluray is a good looking car

Thank you for the information Got Frank! That makes a lot more sense now since I’ve only noticed a few with the blue tint before. The majority that I see have the purple tint, like mine.

Thank You again for the photos, Frightening McScream!

Since I have a dedicated McQueen thread, i wanted to ask about some things...

Is there a variant on dinoco McQueen? Mine doesn't have the dinoco logo on the spoiler, but bling, bluray and lightning storm do. Cant seem to find a dinoco McQueen that does have the logo?

Why does autonaught McQueen have a burnt and normal version?

Interested in some knowledge here.

Cheers

N.

There have been multiple McQueens over the years that lack the front-of-the-spoiler "Rust-eze" logo -- yet Mattel has never fixed them for whatever reason in later releases.  What I've done is create customs for those, by blending a body that has the spoiler logo, with any frame or paint job that doesn't.  Thus I have a dirt track McQueen with spoiler (I did my own dirty overspray), or a regular 'Dinoco' (regular wheels and axles on a 'Bling' body, IIRC).

For the Autonaut McQueen, the 'clean' version is him hurtling through space, and the burned version is him after splashdown.  Sneaky Mattel making us buy him twice!

Also on Dinoco McQ.  I'm pretty sure there's a flat windshield Vs. sculpted variant.
And there was a backdoor version from China.  That had the Dinoco on the spoiler.
But as Jeff mentioned. none of the legit Mattel releases do.

And just to kick the anthill ;-)  The Lightning Storm McQ comes in two shades of blue.
A second release around Cars 2 era.  Is notably lighter than the original.  Not to fix
anything.  Just a oppsy doodle in paint lots or tinting.

No real major updates here, I've had a couple of parcels arrive from various sources, night vision and impound McQueen were a gift from a friend, the booklet from night vision is great. I also ordered a standard lenticular McQueen a while ago which had the most unusual cast, see pics for the reverse orange peel finish.

Im still waiting for a china delivery with 2 nice McQueens in.

Hmmm...  Looks like it got cooked a bit.
Some Speedway of the South owners reported.
That their paint began to crack and lift.  After more
than over five years or so.  I can't remember the exact
year that hit.  But it was more like the the pot metal was
able to oxidize.  Making the paint come loose.  Whereas
that McQ looks like a blotched clear coat.  Or heat exposure.
