Holtby's record in elimination games: 4-11. Bobrovsky's: 1-3.

It's not an elimination game for Holtby, though, LOL.

Game on!

PS: Maybe they meant games where at least one of the two teams is facing elimination.

I'm pretty shakey tonight, caught a stomach bug or something and after throwing up all night last night and no sleep for about 40 hours, still feeling dehydrated to a great degree. Gonna watch much more than post, tonight.

Fun read thanks to lioness at Bumper's...

Eller and Connolly in a 2-on-1. Eller misses his pass.

Another great play by Kuznetsov, a pass for Orlov, wide (I believe).

The first minute was so-so, but now the Caps are playing good.

Intense game already. Caps are creating things, quick plays, but they must be a little more careful. Turnovers on both sides.

Orlov! Great, because Cbus has had the best of the play so far.

Orlov!!!

That was after a sequence dominated by the Blue Jackets, and Holtby had made some good saves.

1-0 Caps.

The top line had a good shift, Kuznetsov with a great move, and when the puck left the offensive zone, Kempny rushed to prevent an odd-man rush.

Then a good shift by Stephenson and Co.

All lines playing well.

Well that would have been nice to get one in the last :25, but a decent road period, and a lead. I'll take it.

Columbus announcer: "Excellent period for the Columbus Blue Jackets".

Not so sure about that. Columbus plays with a little more energy, but the Caps have played a good road period, and they're leading on the scoreboard. Also, the Caps can play much better than that. The Blue Jackets, not so sure.

Foligno ties it! Maybe one that Holtby should have stopped.

1-1.

Yep. New game. A 2 on 1, a 3 on 1, and a 5 on 3 PP... and it's tied.

The crowd is excited, but I think it's just when the Caps will get upset and start playing much harder.

Told ya! Get the Caps upset and you get that.

It did look like the Caps would score on this shift.

Yeah, that was a surprising shift the way they've been playing. Nice to see Ovie get rewarded for his hard work.

As they went to break, Panarin looked to be in some discomfort after those two hits he took.

The difference between the Caps and the Blue Jackets, is that the Caps can elevate their game at any moment. The Blue Jackets do not have the potential to take control of the game, in my opinion. They can still fight hard to tie the game, but I do not expect them to take a real lead.

Nice.

Stephenson to the box for roughing.

Second intermission. 1:54 of the penalty to kill in the third period.

Did you see what the Pens did yesterday? Guenzel had a natural hat trick and added a fourth goal 10 seconds after that. However, on one of his goals, there was a HORRIBLE non call on a brutal tripping. The Flyers deserved better. They fought hard. They blew a 4-2 lead, though.

The Pens score a lot of goals, but Holtby and Grubauer should be able to contain them better than that, and also the Pens give up a lot of goals too.

But let's finish the Blue Jackets first. I hope the Caps only think of that now.

I'm getting sleepy and I have to do things in the morning tomorrow, so I'll stop here. I hope the Caps will be strong and will even score some more. And I hope the Leafs will tie their series.

So good night, Roger. See you next time. For the second round, hopefully.

Speaking of egregious calls (Dubois makes it 3-2 after the penalty expires), while defending the 5 on 3, Murray deliberately kicked the net off the post- no call...

3-2 Caps with lots of time left.

Truthfully, both those penalties were iffy if not not penalties at all. Nice to see the Caps show some guts tonight...

a camera shot of Jenner as the go to a break says it all- they're done, it's just a matter of what the final score is...

by the way, 16 straight on the kill, now...

11:44 left icing Caps after a big Cbus flurry in Holtby's face... and they score off the faceoff.

5-3... 11:03 out of play off Holtby... lots of push by the Jackets, but thast finally wears off... 7:04 a little push by the Caps, Bob the stop, and a scrum as the Kuz pushes the D guy into Bob as he covers and his helmet flies off... Kuz to the box...

17 kills in a row, 2 SOGs on that one... 4:23 left reg Holtby hangs on, and the timeout...

Bob pulled at 2:59... Holtby covers at 2:20... Orpik blocks a shot, goes down like he's dead- rope a dope, fooled everyone, no calls :D ...

and at :13.9, a a80+ foot ENG for the good guys (Eller)... a scrum, Wilson goes and the CBJ guy goes...

6-3 final.

Pens are next.
