Even though I have not read the books, I have read a sample of The Hunger Games
. I kept avoiding it because it was a teen book, but it kept drawing me back & has had such great reviews from both teens & adults alike!
I then look at all the great "children/teen series" that I have loved (or some of us have - I was not huge on Harry Potter, but liked the movies) while reading to, or buying for, my kids & think how silly that thought process is! Chronicles or Narnia
, Harry Potter series
, The Hobbit
& Lord of the Rings
(although not truly
a tween/teen book), Eragon
from the Inheritance Cycle and so many more! Foolish of moi!
The sample captured me right away & when I saw the preview of the film it immediately MADE me want to read the trilogy. The whole fam wants to read them all. Think the movie may be seen by some before the books get read though!
Oh well, would not be the first time that happened
Hey, I'm a decent Jodi Picoult
fan & loved 19 Minutes
and others. Her subject matter is always disturbing in a sad way (to me), yet still captivating. Was thinking of reading The Pact: A Love Story
, but with a bit of trepidation. Anyone read it? It's available today on my Nook for about $2.
Speaking of Jodi Picoult, I'm a bit disappointed (I think) that she may have fallen victim to the "trend of the moment" vampire/wolf BS
with her upcoming release at the end of the month.
It's called Lone Wolf
. Anyone read up on it?
I'm not a Stehpanie Meyer Twighlight
vampire series fan in case you can't tell - no offense to those that are!
