So for the Irish among us who have leftover Irish Soda bread...the bread pudding was really yummy.  As a Finnish girl it got me thinking about Nisu Bread Pudding...how freakin' amazing would that be...only problem is that there is *never* any nisu leftover!

It's just a simple rice seasoning. It's mostly sesame seed, seaweed flakes, salt and sugar. I love Japanese Food.

My favorite eateries of the past: The Bangkok (before pad Thai was common) and Genji's $4.99 Bento Box (12 now$) - Midori has one but haven't tried it.

A revelation

Last night I had a mad craving for a steak bomb. One thing to remember about ordering any sandwich in Maine is that there will always be green peppers involved. It's one of those supposed local traditions that to me is quite loathsome. So I call in my order to Angelo's, a popular local venue. As I repeated no green peppers to the guy, he asked if I wanted to substitute another item. I thought that was unusual and immediately thought of eggplant, one of my favorite grilled veggies.

So I get the large bomb home, unleash the aluminum foil and proceed to have a series of loud mouthgasms. I literally thought I'd died and taken a venerable old favorite to a new level in foodie heaven. I had finally achieved victory in the endless search for the most sublime sandwich. To me, anyway.

If you so inclined, give it a go. I'm thinking you'll be richly rewarded.

I did have pasta for Saint Joseph's but instead of marinara sauce I made some shrimp scampi. I was thinking of going to the Black Rose in Boston and drink a couple yards of lager then continuous shots and Guiness until closing but the shrimp and pasta feared Karly's doggie. Maybe next Saint Patricia's Day when I'm younger.

Busy calendar lately but with a nice balance of people and groups.  Not sure why I haven't recommended this before but Mandarin in Reading on a Sunday is a fabulous buffet ( including sushi which I am not into).  I generally don't even like buffets but this one has loads of interesting veggies in their dishes like yaro.  So good!

Also...another restaurant having a long wait moved a group of us to Angelica's in Middleton and oh isn't that a fun place.  Over-the-top decor in a really fun way, very generous in freebies...popovers, fried dough, bean dip, warm bread,..ended up bringing dinner home and it was enough for two.  


I am still cooking and baking when I can but do need to rely on others a bit lately.
