I'm so very tired of popular so-called oldies from the 70's and 80's. FM isn't the force it used to be before the interwebs took over. I'm now into various world music genres,
good old psychedelic tunes from the last century and artifacts from my youth. What's old is new again. That's why old rock & rollers keep touring if they can as senior citizen status overtakes them. If they can still attract a decent audience of fans, why not? Sometimes the newest version turns out to be the best.

Those tunes both worked for me. Thanks.

I saw Jethro Tull a few years ago, 2013, in Lynn, Mass. The whole Thick as a Brick album. Just like the original, but enhanced.

You can tell it is spring by all the songs here.  And some really great ones I hadn't heard before.  Some of the greatest love songs were recorded decades ago by people like Elvis and Righteous Brothers but I love any songs that were clearly written bravely from the depths of the heart/soul.

I’ve been following Joplin lately.  I read that in 1969 her ashes were spread in the water off Stinson Beach just north of San Francisco - in 1972 I visited the same beach to pour a container of the Atlantic for the Pacific Ocean and in turn filled the bottle with Pacific Water to be joined eventually with the Atlantic in New York.

That wasn’t too smart ecologically on my part to mix oceans I was told - and I was unaware that maybe a little speck of Janis ended up in her NY home.

This is amongst the highlights I found - Janis with Big Brother and the Holding Co,- Monterey 1967,

Muriel Anderson is a guitarist I love who has some local roots.  She was on Cape Ann a couple years ago and did a wonderful concert on Rocky Neck...

From what I’ve just seen on YT Muriel is very warm in her performance and a master with her instruments. She’s returning to Gloucester May 13th I think.

I just checked her newsletter and you are right!  In between DC and Germany.  I am not sure I will be here for it but if you are I think you would really love it, Leland.  She is warm and fun and very talented.  I went because she was highly recommended and I quickly saw why.

On the radio when I was driving home today.  I always liked this song.  Sometimes it is good to tell someone you are just glad they are in the world and he did it so well in this song.

Here’s a fun piece.  Muriel Anderson’s grand pappy played saxophone in the John Phillip Sousa’s Band:  She really gives the guitar versatility.

Leland...I love that and I so want to see her again on Cape Ann.  I am away for awhile around then and might have to miss it...that happens to me a lot lately!  There is just so much I want to do!
