It's not pretty, but it is quite common for underlings to flatter their supervisors.

It was interesting to me that France, having once pulled out of NATO, had rejoined and was very active in the Afghan War.

The USSR was what NATO was primarily to defend against, now former Soviet countries like Ukraine are being considered for NATO membership.

In slow times of involvement  NATO is criticized of having a lack of wood.   But their are smaller countries that receive  informal membership.  MANY more countries are involved in NATOs Peace Initiatives.

Personally when I was involved in a military contractor reduction in force 92/93 when Democrats took office I thought it was okay.  I’d much rather see effective social programs work.
Yes, indeed. (and bravo for "In slow times of involvement  NATO is criticized of having a lack of wood" - some rare wit on CAO.)

I think the pertinent point about NATO today is that its original raison d'être was the USSR; well that Bear has returned with force....both military and digital. And, now I come to think of it, energy control. That is the core.

Any word on how Trump's annual review is going? Is his boss pleased?

Trump is on his "Blame America First" tour. I would think that is a whole lot worse than the apocryphal "apology tour" that ill informed people claim Obama engaged in.

What energy control?

A brother was finishing up a FEMA assignment in Texas earlier this year at a Florida FEMA labor clearing house - both incoming and out.   People and crews coming and going.  A crew on their way in to help Puerto Rico was speaking Russian (he’s sure) and they were ready to repair Puerto Rico’s electrical grid and communication system.

It’s a good thing Puerto Rico isn’t in the United States.

Oh wait.

Check out Kelly's pained look as he entered the room for the press conference. I guess Trump's performance evaluation went well -- for Trump, that is.

The country is fucked.

Notice who spoke first -- Putin is the top dog at this one, that much is clear. His underling, Trump, will follow.

Are Trump supporters really clueless enough to believe TruMp's lie that the Electoral College favors Democrats?

I know they're stupid to the core, but surely they can't buy that one.

I have to wonder: what's going through Kelly's mind? He has to realize by now that his boss is a traitor, and that his boss's boss is a ruthless foreign dictator and enemy of the USA.

Does he stay on so that he can keep track of the damage from an inside position? Is he now just as compromised as is he boss?

Enquiring minds want to know.

When asked whether he has incriminating info on Trump or his family, Putin responded that no one even told him that Trump was in Moscow so he couldn't possibly have.

Oh well alright then.  Cross that one off.

This is scary feeling that the U.S. has become a Russian territory and that Trump isn't even leading it.

"Donald Trump's press conference performance in Helsinki rises to & exceeds the threshold of 'high crimes & misdemeanors.' It was nothing short of treasonous," Brennan, a frequent critic of Trump, tweeted during the event. "Not only were Trump's comments imbecilic, he is wholly in the pocket of Putin. Republican Patriots: Where are you???"

-Former CIA Director John Brennan

Putin's investment in interfering in the election has surely paid off handsomely.

He owns Trump. Did you see how deferential Trump was to Putin? Can you imagine the howls of outrage had Obama ever behaved toward Putin in such a servile manner?
