Yes...Senator Corker is becoming increasingly willing to speak up about the state of the U.S. with Trump at the helm.

Senator Corker (R-Tennessee and chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee) today on Trump...

Mr. Corker said Mr. Trump was “absolutely not” a role model for the children in America.

“I don’t know why he lowers himself to such a low, low standard and is debasing our country,” Mr. Corker said in a CNN interview, suggesting that he will soon convene hearings to examine the ways Mr. Trump “purposely has been breaking down relationships around the world.”

“It’s unfortunate that our nation finds itself in this place,” he added.

Putin's investment in Trump is obviously already paying dividends.

If Trump had not alerted me to his nastiness and craziness during the campaign by insulting a Gold Star family and Senator McCain, I might have been deluded into supporting him and I would really feel stupid now. How long will many Republicans stay loyal to him?

It is hard to find an ethical Republican these days, but here is one of that rare species:

Anyone remember "reasonable"? I knew him well. In fact, worked for him for a very short while. He used to be a Democrat, even ran for an office as one. He was soured by what he saw early on. (And, boy, did THAT pendulum swing in the other direction).

I'm politically on several fences. It's complicated. But I will say that I've been disappionted by the Left in recent years. The Left used to represent, to me, tolerance. These days, I've been accused of being both a "racist" & a "mysogynist". Those who know me, know that I am of a  mixed race make-up, raised (principally) both my 3 older sisters (and I even leave the seat down), lived with & adored several women (who I am still very closed to), and I've been informed that I'm a "wealthy angry white guy". Really? Well, the truth may be slow, but it always crosses the finishline. And I'd bet that the old school Democrats, that I grew up wanting to join the ranks with, are silently disappointed with the culture of hurt feelings, entitlement, and blind bitterness.

You mean, I'm "white"?!?

Wrong thread...was posting about the Washington Post article.  It mentions several of our local people and details how a small town event got blown worldwide for political gain and is now hurting our school children and city.

....and maybe his tax returns, some day?!

So - just as a reminder: as powerful men (left, right, whatever) fall everywhere after being outed as gropers, the one guy among them all who confessed on video tape to serial sexual assault is not only NOT being shown the door, he is allowed to single-handedly provoke us into needless wars, to blow a $4 trillion hole in our budget to give rich people more money - without building or repairing a single bridge or tunnel, to hire corrupt officials who use the (our) government as their personal piggy bank, to kill American citizens by neglecting them, and to steal away our hard won civil rights.

Tired of....ah, to hell with it.

Maybe getting close...

"National security expert Juliette Kayyem is predicting news from Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation will be announced within the next month.

“I think it is safe to say that before Thanksgiving ... something’s going to drop with Mueller,” she said on Boston Public Radio today. “The pace is too much right now. Every 12 hours we’re now dealing with a piece of this story at a pace we haven’t seen.”"

Look! More winning!

A deal reached between the government and a small Montana energy company located in Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke's hometown prohibits the government from reviewing labor costs or profits related to the company's relief efforts in Puerto Rico, according to a leaked copy of the contract.

"The best Deals", eh?!

Anyone for the defense, Trumpistas?

C'mon Masky, et al?!?!  Dianne?!

How about that $300 million contract that Puerto Rico doesn’t want, can’t challenge, and the US government can’t audit -- to a 2-employee company, that’s a friend of Chump's Interior Secretary (... they employed his son), and a major Chump donor.

Or do you want to whine and bluster about a kid's Halloween cut-out again?!?!

Speaking of that nasty, sleazy,  Puerto Rico contract:

Ever since the hurricane I have been thinking that this is our opportunity to try really installing a serious renewable energy system for a large community. My memory of Puerto Rico is of strong constant trade winds and abundant sunlight. It would just be crazy in my opinion to rebuild a flaky fossil fuel fired and high voltage transmitted system there. The towns are widely scattered and far from the plants.  Their transmission lines flow forever through mountains and jungle. The fuel is imported into the island expensively. Solar and wind systems can be small scale aimed at the village needs with large arrays for places like San Juan. If we blow this opportunity to invest sensibly and learn how to do renewable energy on this scale I will be very disappointed.

Thanks Cathy !
I should have realized Tesla would be right on it.
By the way the Spanish article at the bottom of that link is worth struggling through even if your Spanish is rusty. It says far more than the part above it.
