Too, too funny article from a resident a coupla towns over:

"People put their garbage cans out by the road each week on garbage-pickup day. (Where I live, on Planet Outer Linebrook, garbage-pickup day is Thursday.) Under the law, Ipswich will only take one garbage can-full of garbage from you per week. If you have more garbage, you have to buy shame-bags."

Too funny, yes, but some of the rules both there and here(Gloucester) are very impractical and probably unnecessary. Recycling is still in it's infancy.

Say what? Acceptance no, implementation, yes. Those who partake recycle almost 90% of their waste..it's the lazy folks who are dooming the planet.

Sometimes the homeless downtown get blamed but since the high school sailors moved into the ground floor of FH Lane house I have noticed the opposite. The homeless people help me pick trash and garbage up and the tourists and concert goers throw it all over the place.

Oh, but I so could relate to the author's recycling anxiety.

I thought Gloucester only took plastic through #5 - I'm pretty sure that they used to only take up to 5.

Solo cups are a 6.  I've been preaching to people that Solo cups are not recyclable.

I just looked at the latest recycling brochure and holy jamoley, we now take 1 through 7.
