That is a indeed a good question. I hope some reporter researches how often Pence goes to games. If this is his first in a long time, he clearly went to provoke trouble and increase alienation. Obviously he knew perfectly well that some players would give him the opportunity.

It was an absolute set-up -- and one that cost taxpayers a lot of (unnecessary) expense.

The President is kicking it up a
notch in his war with the NFL....
.................
✔@realDonaldTrump
[b]Why is the NFL getting massive tax breaks while at the same time
disrespecting our Anthem, Flag and Country? Change tax law!

................

If the President even faintly hints that he is considering
military options against the NFL, it will be a real red flag.

Because the residual economic benefits far out weigh what's lost in tax breaks. For instance Patriot Place next to Gillette Stadium alone in 2014 provided the Town of Foxboro $3.1 mil in tax revenue and 3000 jobs!

who cares why he went.  who cares that he left.      again, mountains being made out of molehills by the media and the lemmings falling into the pit.

Waste of taxpayers money for a contrived stunt.

If you don't care...you are complicit by default in allowing them to completely fuck you/us all over with the rampant hypocrisy, lying, crushing people's rights....etc. But you're old, retired, got a fat pension and get over-paid to stand beside holes in the road practicing your golf swing. Many more of us have to stay around a while longer....and our kids/grandkids, longer still. Unless he gets us all blown up.

I was driving by the Washington St construction areas and a chip shot went through my open sunroof...

Pence hasn't been to a game in three years.

... BTW - a light pair of my best pair of pants has coffee stains when a golf ball came through my sunroof and landed in my ice coffee in the dash cup holder.

There are more important things in lives than to worry about every little thing that goes on with Trump and his continuing saga of his presidency.  The country will survive just like it has with other presidents that people didn't like and that did stupid things.  The ones who spend their every minute fretting and worrying can keep on being scared. I won't.

And while I may be a little fat, that pension sure isn't.  I'm not as old as I think I am some days, and my swing isn't helped by practicing.  What are you doing with all those royalties from your years as a musical star?

Ha ha! Well, No to the first paragraph - you are equating the Chump administration with what "people didn't like and that did stupid things". There is really no fair equivalency to any past presidency, if you're paying attention to it all. There are mountains.

Fair play on the second paragraph.  But I'll guarantee your pension (...earned, no dispute there) way outstrips any residual royalties I still get. By at least 20-fold!

The point of the anthem is freedom. Which makes the players correct.

in all the reports and articles there is little mention of the police inequality end.  I'll bet if you ask 20 people, 15 will say it's about the flag only.

I agree -- there are a lot of misinformed or maybe just plain stupid people out there.

So does this mean that if I and a lot of other people are misinformed about something you are doing -- say, we've been told that you are engaging in onanism while you are out there staring at holes in the road -- and we all believe it -- does that mean it's really true? No matter what YOU say you are doing? Or does it mean we're grossly ignorant and misinformed about what YOU are doing.
