Ooh...that sounds as good as the "Flirtini" I had recently.  It had Grey Goose, chambord, pineapple juice and a splash of champagne.

Well, I do not care a hoot about horse racing but thanks for bringing this thread back up. It is a pleasure to see the names and comments.

I missed it! I scanned the channels and didn't find it.
I guess for an event that lasts about two minutes , my timing had to be critical.

My wife (who is stuck here with a broken arm) had it on TV down the hall so I heard the frantic yelling from her machine which usually only shouts "DONALD TRUMP" every 2.57 minutes.
Don't you see that the whole aim of Newspeak is to narrow the range of thought?...   ..........

The Preakness at Pimblico in Baltimore MD is Saturday, May 21st." Will Nyqiist go undefeated? For derby day a few weeks ago, Suffolk Downs was packed for symucast/OTB and probably for the Preakness as well,

The track has live racing approved for weekends in July, August and September.

http://www.suffolkdowns.com/events.html

They have set up tents for Cirque Du Soleil in the lot across the way from the clubhouse at Suffolk Downs. Looks like tix start at $35. There were bus loads of performers and staff that arrived by bus a short time ago no doubt for rehearsal.

I would quess the track and cirque would have part time work.

I guess the Tripe Crown hype will commence
for real on Saturday evening if Nyquist wins.

The doors open at Suffolk at 9:45 a.m. this Saturday.
It is always fun to shoot down there early and get home
with a real ticket in hand for the race on TV later.

..................

Back to back Triple Crown winners?
It has been a long time since Seattle Slew / Affirmed !!!

Nyquist

The favorite has a confident -- maybe
even cocky -- look on his face.

Not quite rising to the level of pomposity but after this race, who knows...  Can a horse be pompous???

"Life is Beautiful" and occasionally graced with a pompous horse. A great comedic team.
