It's the right time of year for observing the moon, all right.

I looked upwards for a few moments,
but didn't do anything really special.

A nice flyover of the ISS a few minutes ago.

Is this the kind of situation where you can get a good picture, Dun?
And see the panels and everything.

ISS was super bright (6:05), and it is light outside.

If the clouds allow it, there will be a great view
of Venus and Jupiter very close together tomorrow
morning. They are "in counjunction" and that
should be a nice thing to see.

Sunrise is at 6:32.

It is good luck to see a conjunction like this!
It will make your whole day go well.

..............................................................................
Just before sunrise Monday (Nov. 13), Venus and Jupiter will pass within 17 arc minutes (0.28 degrees) of each other in the sky, or just over half the apparent width of the full moon. The two planets will also be fairly close to each other in the days just ahead of and just after the conjunction.

The actual conjunction (the point at which the planets are closest together in the sky) will happen at 1:05 a.m. EST (0605 GMT) on Nov. 13. Neither planet will have risen for observers on the U.S. East Coast by then — that won't happen for another few hours, at about 5:30 a.m. EST (1030 GMT). Jupiter and Venus will be in the constellation Virgo, roughly southeast, and west of the moon, which will be a small crescent.

My Dad like everything about space.  Conjunctions were huge.  As was listening to Sputnik on a home built.  The entire LEM Program.  Anything exploring space.  Billions and Billions. His favorite flower - a cosmos.

Happy 100th Dad.

Good night Laika.

There will still be a good Venus/Jupiter conjunct this morning. Clouds seem better for a look this morning.

Here comes the ISS.

And it will be directly overhead at 5:27.

It will be so bright you need shades!

Glad you saw it. I forgot about it until about 10 minutes prior.

That's about as bright as it gets!

This should be a very bright pass in the morning, especially in the clear, cold air.

January 7, early morning conjunction.

Jupiter and Mars in conjunction right now and it is very clear right now.
A nice view!  Looks like you can see Zube as well.

I just barely caught it, too.

I wanted to get over to the back shore and see the Mars/Jupiter rise....but forgot!
