Essex avenue by the marina, lanes cove, Gloucester house area, and the first test for the hotel........commercial street.  And it's still 45 minutes until high tide. Just added Washington street by captain hooks

Yep - Essex Avenue causeway is closed, already under water.  Workers at the sewer plant won't be going anywhere soon!

The hotel is an island with Commercial St flooded. The hotel's garage is designed to flood but still dry. At 6am a sprinkler head broke in the garage luckily in one of the only spots where no cars were parked.

"Storm surge and an astronomical high tide raised the level of the Blynman Canal causing flooding in the area of Western Avenue across from Boudreau Field."

"Rescue personnel used the harbormaster's truck to reach the apartment of Neil Marshall at 151 Western Ave. because the water was at level reaching police cruisers' rooftops. Marshall was pulled out of his residence and taken to Addison Gilbert Hospital, according to rescue personnel."

well, for anyone who didn't believe in global warming.........the oceans have risen some since 1978.  I worked during the perfect storm and nothing was as bad as this one.    (as far as the flooding went)

Taken about 2PM today.  I don’t have a tripod mount for my new iPhone - but it did okay.

Stop and shop bag on the left foot Walgreen’s on the right.  Testing. Four layer protection. Sock, sock, bag, sock.

God I’m glad it’s not 2019 - I’d be in the ER NOW!

Cool shots, Leland.  Crazy surfers - they must be way younger than me, lol.

I was heading over town this afternoon and saw a Tally's ramp truck pulling out of Centennial with a car on the bed and towing another.  The Globe reported 60 cars damaged or totaled in that lot alone.  Just awful. :-(

I stopped on the Boulevard to snap a pic of the icicles on the railing.  I can not wait for flip-flop season!  Let's make sure we save these pics so we can look at them 7 months from now when we be bitchin' about the heat, lol.
