Maybe it will be brought up during the debate (doubt.) Expect nothing until after the "election."

My guess is that "they" just want it to go away quietly. Certainly "they" could have finished the basic inquiries and come up with a statement or conclusion by now.

If cops weren't involved, there would have probably been charges filed by now.

You got that right. Someone needs to expose what happened.

August 21, 2017, GDTimes:

"Ten months after the U.S. Attorney's office and state Attorney General's office took over an investigation into actions by Gloucester's now-former chief and a detective sergeant, the city is poised to move ahead with a full, independent audit of the Police Department. "

"The audit has been on hold pending completion of the federal investigation largely tied to alleged wrongdoing by former Chief Leonard Campanello and Sgt. Sean Conners, which Destino said he understands remains active. "

The recent (10/13/17) story about David Olsen's Editorial Award for his editorial of 10/6/16 calling for disclosure of the details elicited this comment and a response from the GDT in a FB post:

"Congratulations on his award, but it didn't get the citizens any answers."

GDT:  "The US Attorney's Office is still investigating and all related materials are under seal. We have requested them."

I have a lot of other stuff going on as I am sure everyone here does. Please someone remember to watch this. We can not just let it drop. I do not care a hoot about the former police chief's doings but I care a lot about sweeping them under the rug.

You may well be right but that does not make it right.

Never. We need to know what happens in our city. Hiding our heads in the sand just results in more and more wrongdoing.

To be clear, I am not suggesting that we shouldn't find out.

I met him several times and found him very likable and personable. Obviously when things went sour he got very defensive.

A good thing about message boards like this is that there are many people who remember transgressions or misdeeds by officials and others and who will not rest until an explanation is given. If we just had the GDT to rely on and they were not responsive then answers would never be forthcoming. This is a new development in holding officials more accountable and I like it.

If Connors is still under investigation, why is he still allowed to work?

Not sure but I think they stuck him in the overnight shift.
