Thanks, Leland.  I fell asleep before the results were in.  I am very glad they voted to keep some control over their remaining land and water.

Looks like a win for the people. I also received an email of thanks from the AMC.

The shadow of a blue spruce looms to the left of the AMC Cold River Camp main facility - dedicated in memory to Helen Fair - active leader with the AMC FOR 75 YEARS. It was six feet tall when I last saw it.

I was at an AMC hut today around lunchtime while doing a day hike.  I brought my own lunch but their pizza looked good!  Gorgeous day up here!

The image of the tree appears when I was logged in. When I was logged out the tree was gone and all that's shown is the text: "image.jpg"

EVENING COYOTE WATCH
NILES BEACH
10/13/17

7:50PM Distant coyote calls.  Now I bring full attention to listening both adult and young coyotes maybe 100 yards past eastern point entrance.

Now it's quiet.  Five minute show is over.

But I'm still staring into the darkness of the EP coastline.

Still staring.

Still staring.

8:10PM
Then, someone walking their dog, walked behind my car and stopped right next to me - the dog is in the corner of my eye - 10 feet from my drivers side window.  Obviously wondering what I was looking at.

I was about to give the dog walker my little speech about keeping pets from Coyotes.  Then I would add they are close by again tonight!

Then I looked at the dog - no leach - no dog walker either!

You know when Lou Costello is so scared at a ghost that he can't talk and all he can do is whimper?

Yeap, that was me.

Whimpering.

No ghost walker ... but my good buddy the coyote standing right beside me and looking up the beach, curious what I WAS looking at.

AND NOW he was whimpering because I was whimpering ... and ran off behind my car again.

=====================

Maybe that's my new lot in life - a coyote whisperer.  I could teach them to be "kid friendly" and enjoy a good falafel wrap at Paprika Grill or on a Monday a large five dollar cheese Pizza at Poseidon's or a vegetable Pad Thai (with thai iced coffee) at ThaiChoice.

Coyote's spirits are people's spirits too.

Speaking of little doggies.

There were so many dogs at GHB that I was expecting to be given one to take carer of when crossing the GHBFB.

One young daughter in a turquoise jacket was trailing her mother by more and more ... barking all the way.

Apparently the little girl got the memo - have fun - pure fun.

It is Homecoming at UMASS Amherst
today, and what a key football game!

UMASS (0-6) vs Georgia Southern (0-5).

Umass started the season ranked dead last
among the 130 DI college football teams.

They have climbed to #123, and today provides
maybe their only chance at a victory this year.

Kickoff in a few minutes at McGuirk Stadium.

This is high pressure.

120. Georgia State
121. Ball State
122. Coastal Carolina
123. UMass
124. San Jose State
125. Rice
126. Texas State
127. Georgia Southern
128. Kent State
129. UTEP
130. Charlotte

MORE OF NOTHING:

(1.) UMASSAM scored 48 points in the 1st half beating Georgia Southern 55 to 20 on homecoming weekend.

(2.) Dr. James Dowd for POTUS 2018!!!!!!!!!'

(oh, wait, or is it Rev. Dr. James Dowd)

(3.) My heart sunk when I noticed a topic Dianne posted - "HEADS NEED TO ROLL" and feared she joined whatever .... but APPARENTLY NOT AND she is doing just fine on CAO.

(4.) ... and finally .... who is "Don Trump0" - I heard a medical doctor... it really meant nothing after all.

And what an historic victory it was!

Their one and only this year probably.
And it is nice that it came on Homecoming.

They will get punished by Appalachian State on Saturday.

Kind of a low point for the football program. Lot's of
tailgate partying in the McGuirk Stadium parking lot.....
but many of students never actually make it into the game!

I'm in my 2nd hour at Niles Beach working my two.hour.ciyotte.safety. watch.Gang...

I fell asleep though.

But came up with a great crowd funder. Procure reflective collars and safety glogreen vests for ALL of OUR coyotes.

One other note - do NOT hand out Halloween candy to coyotes that are in costume ....

It totally bites the weenie when the clocks change in the fall, and
you work the overnight shift. You have to work an extra hour!
