MNGreene Jr. had a requirement in school to write some poetry. I sure he was "thrilled" with the assignment since he doesn't like writing. Quite to my surprise, here is what he wrote:

So calm and silent,
of the lake and trees,
so lush and bright
the loon calls
echo off the cliff walls,
wind whistling on the canoe,
sun reflecting on the waves,
so relaxing and no one in sight,
peaceful silence
of the lake and trees.
I remember writing those "first" poems in school. I'll have to say that one doesn't equal what most of them sound like - it far surpasses them. Very, very nice!

He may not like it, but he done good!

Nice display of writing talent. I'm heartened "like" wasn't like interspersed like every like second like word. Is that habit a plague in MN too?

On another note, how's your daughter's slapshot coming along?

sometimes the hardest part of writing is not the actual effort, but just getting up the gumption to get oneself started.

Alas, she has hung up the stick, but not the skates. I'm the only one working on a slap shot now.

Still good stuff. Stands the test of time, doesn't it?   :)
