I have recently found a Silver Cross on the reverse of which is inscribed, "B.72922 Pte N.McCONNACH" My limited abilities at computer research has found that this is Private Nathaniel McConnach of the 48th Highlands who died on July 16th, 1943. I'd like to frame the Cross and include a biography of Private McConnach, if that's possible. Any assistance that can be given as to where I might secure more information on this soldier is greatly appreciated.

A picture of his headstone and the Agira cemetery can be found on the Canadian Virtual War Memorial at http://www.veterans.gc.ca/eng/sub.cfm?s ... ty=2202681

Unfortunately, there are no pictures of Pte MCCONNACH uploaded.

Further, I would recommend that you find a copy of the 48th Highlander regimental history, Dileas, by Kim Beattie. It will give the context to his loss, if not actually describing the action.

that medal is my grandfathers which was stolen from my mothers home near Toronto. I'm currently filling out the necessary forms with Verterans Affairs Canada to have the medal replaced. I would certainly like to find out where you found my grandfathers medal, if you could contact me it is greatly appreciated, thanks....
