I noticed that The War Amps is selling 6 DVDs containing 105 Canadian Army footage from World War Two. Has anyone seen them and what is their opinion about their worth?

Hi,
If you scroll down to the bottom of the page you will see a thread already started about them. "Christmas gift for yourself" is the title I think.
I read that thread and bought the set, very enjoyable and well worth the $30!

Highly suggest anyone buying the War Amps products also get this one:

Kind of a "making of" DVD in a way. Well done.

Not necessarily from the source I've linked to - that price is a bit steep. On my way to work and can't find the home page for the production company that made the DVD at the moment, perhaps someone else can help.

There are many hours of footage here for an incredibly small price (in which shipping is included.)

Everything from combat footage down to the mundane daily details of logistics. In the latter category, although I have only made it through the first DVD so far, plus a bit of hopping about in some of the others, I found the newsreel covering the mobile field laundry (a Canadian Army innovation) quite fascinating!

I purchased my copy before Christmas and have watched all of the newsreels, well worth the $30.00 and as enjoyable as a good book!

Just ordered the war amp DvD's. Was going to order the shooters one as well at $35 but then they want to charge another $10 for shipping. Looks Interesting but a little pricey for one hour. Cheers Brian

Has anyone found these very dark? Had to turn the brightness on tv to max to watch, very good otherwise. Cheers Brian

I've ordered right after I saw the first posting and have not had time to even open it yet. The outside looks real spiffy though.
