Was there an age of consent in the CEF in WW1?
We are researching members of our society that served in WW1, one member served in the CEF from September 1914, his age on the attestation papers has been changed to 22 years and 4 months from his correct age of 20 years and 4 months and his date of birth entered wrongly.
Would he have needed his parents of guardians consent to serve in the army or overseas. As he was from Ireland this would have been difficult and time consuming. Or is there another reason why he would changed his age?

Stephen, I think your question was about age of majority? Age of consent is for sexual activity.
